One million trees by 2030.
This page is the living record of our biggest commitment: 1,000,000 trees in the ground by the end of 2030, every one verified and documented in the open.
Why a million, and why 2030
We did not pick a million because it is a round number. We picked it because it is big enough to matter and concrete enough to chase, and a deadline turns a someday wish into a plan with a clock on it.
Impact that compounds
Restoring forests is one of the most affordable, scalable tools we have for climate, biodiversity, water, and soil. A million trees is a forest large enough to shift local ecosystems, not a gesture.
A number you can feel
Social feeds are built to be endless and forgettable. This is the opposite: a single figure that only moves when a real tree goes in the ground. Watching it climb is a habit worth keeping.
Accountability by design
Setting the goal in public means we have to show our work, every tree, every year. It cannot be fudged when it is tied to verified data anyone can check.
The climb so far
A million is the summit, but the climb is made of checkpoints. The next flag we are chasing is the next milestone, about 0 trees away.
Documented in the open
A public goal is only as good as the evidence behind it. The same data that powers the progress at the top of this page is what we publish everywhere, receipts included.
- Every verified tree has a certificate. Planting proofs are downloadable on our Certificates page.
- The count is live. Totals pull from the Tree-Nation API and a daily-synced cache, so this page moves when the real number moves.
- Nothing is double-counted. Our project-by-project Verified Breakdown shows exactly how the grand total adds up, with shared partner trees removed.
- We report years openly. Fiscal-year Impact Reports show growth and shortfalls, without spin.
- The plumbing is visible too. Our System Status page runs live health checks on the data services behind this site.
The road ahead
The pilots proved we can plant well in many places at once. The next phase is about depth and scale, turning that footprint into a million-tree forest.
From pilots to plantings
Converting our pilot footprint into larger, repeatable plantings in the geographies where survival rates and stewardship are strongest.
Deeper partnerships
Expanding high-impact partnerships and welcoming corporate and community forests that can add trees in meaningful blocks, each held to our verification standard.
The compounding years
This is where growth and partnerships do the heavy lifting. Small, consistent multipliers turn into very large annual numbers.
The millionth tree
The finish line: documented, certified, and celebrated in the open, the same way every tree before it was counted.
Gabriel's goal, a note from the founder
"I wanted a number I could not look away from. Not a feed that scrolls forever and leaves nothing behind, but a number that only moves when something real happens in the world. A million trees by 2030 is that number. Every time it climbs, a forest somewhere is a little fuller, a watershed a little healthier, a community a little stronger. This is the page I check first. I hope it hooks you the way it hooks me."
Oasis 2030, in plain answers
Why is Oasis of Change aiming for one million trees by 2030?
A million trees is big enough to create real climate, biodiversity, water, and livelihood impact, and concrete enough to organize every decision around. Setting it publicly, with a deadline, forces us to document every tree, report progress openly, and stay accountable.
How will Oasis of Change reach one million trees by 2030?
By compounding annual planting growth and scaling high-impact partnerships. Sustaining roughly 2 to 3 times year-over-year growth from our most recent planting cycle, accelerated by strategic partnerships and larger restoration projects, puts the million within reach by the end of 2030.
How is progress verified and kept transparent?
Every verified tree is backed by a Tree-Nation certificate. Totals are reconciled against the live Tree-Nation API, de-duplicated across partners, and published with full methodology and a project-by-project breakdown. We report fiscal-year impact openly, including growth and shortfalls.
Who does Oasis of Change partner with to plant trees?
Tree-Nation is our verification backbone and a trusted core partner. As we scale, we evaluate additional partners on the impact each dollar delivers: trees that survive, ecosystems restored, communities strengthened, and rigorous verification, rather than price alone.
