Accessibility Statement
The accessibility policy of Oasis of Change, Inc. for its Tree Transparency Report, published at impact.oasisofchange.com.
Our commitment
Oasis of Change, Inc. is committed to ensuring that its Tree Transparency Report is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technology. Public accountability is the purpose of this website: it documents the organization’s reforestation work with verified planting data, certificates, and impact reporting, and that documentation is only meaningful if every donor, partner, and member of the public is able to review it. Accessibility is therefore treated as a condition of the organization’s transparency, and as a requirement of the site’s design and development rather than an afterthought.
Conformance status
Oasis of Change, Inc. strives to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities. The site is reviewed against this standard on an ongoing basis, and identified barriers are corrected in the site’s own source code.
In support of this standard, the website provides full keyboard operability, named landmark regions and skip links on every page, text alternatives for meaningful images, color combinations selected to meet the required contrast ratios, underlined links within passages of text, and reduced animation for visitors whose systems request it.
Third-party content and documents
Certain components of the website are provided by external services and are not fully within the organization’s control. The interactive planting map is operated primarily by mouse or touch; the complete planting-site information it presents is also published as text in the “Project Sites by Country” list on the dashboard. The tree counter displayed in the footer is rendered by Tree-Nation.
Planting certificates are issued by Tree-Nation as image-based PDF documents without a machine-readable text layer, and they cannot be read directly by screen readers. Because each certificate carries a verification hash, Oasis of Change, Inc. publishes these documents exactly as issued. The details of every certificate (project, location, tree count, CO₂ offset, and issue date) are published as text on the certificates page, and the contents of any certificate are available in an alternative format on request.
Feedback and contact
Feedback on the accessibility of this website is welcome. If you encounter a barrier, or require any content in an alternative format, please contact gabriel@oasisofchange.org and include the address of the page together with a description of the issue. Oasis of Change, Inc. aims to acknowledge accessibility feedback within five business days and to remediate verified issues promptly.
The operational state of the website and of the services it depends on can be reviewed at any time on the system status page.
